Postcard from Bergamo, Italy: A few faces

Again, a random collection of enduring faces encountered wandering around the streets and plazas of Bergamo.

Lions – the symbol of the Venetian Republic – are abundant. Venice managed to wrest Bergamo from the control of Milan in the 1400s and walled in the hilltop town to protect its claim. The fortification proved effective for more than three centuries.
