Don’t confuse your nostalgia for a non-existent past-without-progress for what it really was–a time when people looked forward to the innovation to the future. I am sure Alfred Giles would gasp more at the price paid by the tenants of the Crockett Building than the signs they are using to advertise their products. Despite what you think (and rant) Mr. Giles does not need a spokeswoman, nor does the Alamo.
