Yard Art Perpetuates Spring

All those flowers that froze back to the ground never to bud again have been removed.  Hopefully, their replacements have time to send their roots deep before their turn to fry under the sizzling summer sun.

Accents for the garden that will neither wither during drought nor perish when pelted by hail have sprung forth at SAY Si, San Antonio Youth Yes, 1518 South Alamo.  Shiny silver birds, copper wind chimes, mosaic planters and fountains and inventive birdhouses made by talented high schoolers are on exhibit during SAY Si Yard Art 2010, which opened on First Friday, April 2.

In addition to nurturing the artistic and creative spirit of the approximately 50 students enrolled in its visual arts program, SAY Si provides “entrepreneurial opportunities for students to benefit from the sale of their work.”  So drop by and buy a few of these non-perishable perennials to plant in your yard.
