Been dreading this day. The blog has been lagging way behind our last trip before Covid lockdown. But here they are – the final photographic scraps of our month-long stay in Merida earlier this year.
Hoping someone will identify that wild feathery shocking pink flower blooming on a prehistoric looking plant outside of El Gran Museo del Mundo Maya de Merida.
Don’t know how you are feeling during this extended time of hunkering down at home, but I am eager to return to being a practicing boulevardier.
Gorgeous photos! The fantastic flower is called carolina (pseudobombax ellipticum) according to one of my favorite apps, plantsnap đŸ™‚

Thanks. Looked it up by that name and like one of its nicknames – the Dr. Seuss tree.

Shaving brush tree. Related to hollyhocks and hibiscus and 5,998 other plants in the Malvaceae family. Of course! I knew that.

Lili – They all may be related, but this one definitely has a distinct personality.
